In this tutorial, we’ll explore how to use paper, paint, and a small amount of fabric to make a piece you can hang on your wall.1.
Find a location.
Finding the right spot to hang a piece on your walls will be crucial to getting the right result.
The best places to hang your piece of creative applique are on the floor, behind the fireplace, or at the bottom of your closet.
If you are a fan of using furniture for creative appliques, you can make the wall hanging piece of fabric with a flat piece of furniture that is about 6 inches wide and about 6-inches high.2.
Start by painting a single color onto a white background.2a.
With your brush, paint a single coat of paint onto the fabric.3.
Now, with a ruler, draw lines to mark where you want the fabric to start and end.
Draw a line down the middle of the fabric, and another line from the top to the bottom.
This will be your starting point.4.
Now trace a line across the fabric and mark the center of the line.
Now add a second line and a third line, along with the two lines on the side of the center line.5.
Now mark the ends of the two fabric lines.6.
With a ruler and ruler, trace a dot across the center dot, and then trace a straight line from top to bottom.
Draw an X to mark the middle dot.
Add another X and then draw a line from bottom to top, then a line along the top, and finally a line that goes through the middle.7.
Then trace an X from the center to the side, then draw another line through the center, ending with a dot at the center.8.
Now draw a single line across each of the four lines you drew.9.
Repeat steps 6-9 for each of four pieces of fabric.10.
Now cut the four pieces, and use the ends to hang the pieces together.11.
Use a fabric needle to thread the ends together.12.
You can now hang the fabric piece from the wall.
Make sure to cut the fabric for the wall piece when you are done.
