A Trump aide who allegedly used racist, sexist and homophobic slurs against a white female journalist in a Facebook post has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor, reports The Daily Caller News Foundation.
Matt Tait, a Trump aide from West Palm Beach, Florida, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of harassment and misconduct in public office.
He will be sentenced in May.
Tait posted the following in February 2016: “Just so you know, this is not a joke.
This is not the typical White House press briefing where they say something and then they leave.
This was a real press briefing.
You know what this is about?
The White House’s not going to take it anymore.”
Tait also used the word “nigger,” which was the term used by the alt-right.
Tampons, Trump hats and other paraphernalia belonging to the staffer were also found at the White House.
He faces up to a year in prison if convicted of harassment.
He had previously pleaded not guilty to all charges.
